Rashmi Academy of Performing Arts (RaPa) was founded in 2008 in Mumbai, India, by Rashmi Mishra, with a vision to preserve, promote, and pass on the rich traditions of Indian classical and folk dance. What began as a humble initiative to teach Kathak and Indian folk styles has blossomed into a vibrant cultural movement.
In 2022, RaPa established its branch in Toronto, Canada, where it continues to build community through the performing arts. RaPa offers training in Kathak, Indian folk dances, and Bollywood, and serves as a platform for both beginner and advanced learners. Students also appear for formal dance examinations and frequently perform at prestigious events across Canada and internationally.
RaPa is more than a dance school—it’s a space where students discover themselves through rhythm, expression, and cultural storytelling. Through regular classes, stage shows, and community involvement, young dancers learn discipline, confidence, leadership, and cultural appreciation.
“RaPa was created with a deep love for Indian arts and a dream to make them accessible to the next generation. It’s not just about learning steps, but about finding your story, your roots, and your voice through movement.”
